Love your enemies

Matthew 5: 43-48

43 ” You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. ‘ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Let us start loving like never before, when Jesus says let’s love our enemy He makes it very clear that it’s not our way, but what He want us to become, pray for those who use us…WOW, let’s love and pray for them instead of holding a grudge or giving a piece of our wisdom to them. We can proclaim and confess we are sons of God if we like, but Jesus said something else that makes us sons/daughters of our Father.

Sometimes we go as far as not to even greet our brethren because of some small issues we have with them, if we do have those feelings we need to get before God in private and with His help sort it out, to work out our own salvation before Him. We cannot afford to be alive to ourselves anymore or to be controlled by what we feel. We need to get in a place before the Father where we are moved by the truth and not emotions anymore.
